Snoop Dogg is a major player in the music industry. The famed L.A. rapper has also dabbled in several other interests over the years. Snoop has done television, cookbooks, alcohol, and shockingly even cannabis. CEO of Death Row Records is also on his shortlist. The Doggfather has his sights set on entering a new market that complements those other things perfectly.

Billboard reported that Snoop’s attorneys have filed for trademark protection on his own brand of hot dogs. The new meaty treats will be called “Snoop Doggs.” The filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office says the phrase “Snoop Doggs” will be used to sell hot dogs and other types of sausage.

The filing was made in December. It contains little or no details about the specific features of the new products. The application only protects the name. Branding and development will come later.

Snoop Dogg has become quite an entrepreneur. Leafs By Snoop, his cannabis company, opened in 2015. Snoop’s Indoggo Gin came out in 2020. Martha Stewart has even co-starred in several TV cooking segments with Snoop.

Snoop famously said he would never eat a hot dog again after being shown how they’re made in a comedy bit with Jimmy Kimmel. It seems like he has had a change of heart. Snoop Doggs will at least enter some stage of consideration towards becoming a real product.

In 2011, Snoop teased a new ice cream brand called Snoop Scoops with a similar filing. That brand never came to fruition. Processed meat enthusiasts and hip-hop fans are hoping that Snoop Doggs don’t meet the same fate.
