College football’s wild offseason had to wait one more day to come into full effect. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs had one last score to settle. College football’s national championship took place Monday night in Indianapolis. The Tide recently blew out the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship game. Alabama head coach Nick Saban was confident that his team could do it again.

WWE superstar Sasha Banks kicked off the game with a bang. The first half was a war in the trenches. Neither team was able to find the endzone. Alabama took a 9-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Georgia’s Stetson Bennett led the Bulldogs to the first TD of the game. Bryce Young and the Alabama offense couldn’t find their footing as they played from behind. Young finished the game 35/57 for 369 yards and a touchdown. The key to the turning point were his two interceptions.

One of those interceptions came when Young was leading Alabama for a potential tying score. The Heisman Trophy winner broke the hearts of Tide fans when an interception brought that effort to a close. Georgia tacked on a further 20 points in the fourth to bring the college football season to an end.

It was Georgia’s first national championship in 41 years. Alabama had dominated the series of late. It was a satisfying way to end the long title drought.

This year’s offseason will be full of chaos. The transfer portal and NIL have completely changed the way college football teams are constructed. Several of the top contenders for the Heisman will be changing schools. The Georgia Bulldogs will be too busy celebrating their national championship to be bothered by the noise.
