Troy Aikman led the Dallas Cowboys to multiple Super Bowl victories in the 1990’s. Aikman led a dynasty that few other NFL franchises could ever dream of touching. Troy moved on to the broadcast booth after his playing career. Aikman has already upset NFL players with his comments. Many fans now wish he hadn’t taken up commentary at all.

Aikman called the Sunday tilt between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams. The stakes were high as L.A. needed a win to qualify for the playoffs. The 49ers ultimately won a thrilling overtime battle, 27-24.

Aikman received heavy criticism from fans for the way he treated San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers QB got the nod after the franchise infamously passed on signing Tom Brady. Jimmy entered the game fighting a sprained thumb on his throwing hand. Aikman was quickly accused on social media of giving the QB preferential treatment over other quarterbacks around the league.

“Troy Aikman blaming the thumb for Jimmy missing that throw when he has routinely missed them for years is straight comedy”

“Is Troy Aikman blind?”

“It really bothers me how Troy Aikman can give props to Jimmy G but downplay Dak.”

“Troy Aikman praising Jimmy G garbage ass, yet sh*ts on Dak any chance he get… make it make sense”

Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t put together a masterpiece against the Rams. The effort he put forth was good enough to win. Jimmy G won’t be thinking too much about Troy Aikman as he now prepares for a Wild Card playoff matchup against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys.

What do you think of Troy Aikman’s alleged bias towards Jimmy Garoppolo? Let us know in the comments!
