Kanye West was not able to show the first part of his documentary film “jeen-yuhs” at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. COVID-19 outbreaks in the area have forced the organizers to go virtual with most of the event. Disappointed fans weren’t sure how long they would have to wait to see Kanye’s latest endeavor.

Netflix answered that question this morning. The streaming giant tweeted the official release date for jeen-yuhs. The company also revealed a brand-new trailer for the documentary film.

“Step inside the journey of Kanye West, over twenty years in the making.

jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy — a once in a lifetime three-week global event — begins February 16″

The trailer shows vintage footage of a young Kanye discussing his status as a genius. Ye can also be seen getting some dental work done after a car accident that occurred in 2002. West also pays a visit to his childhood home and plays some music for Jay-Z.

Netflix promises an intimate look into the life and work of Kanye West. Footage used in the movie dates back to the 1990’s. Ye has become one of the most recognizable names in music. It will be a fascinating look inside a complicated mind.
