Jake Paul has turned celebrity boxing into big business. The YouTube star is a perfect 5-0 in his professional fight career. Many have criticized Jake for his uninspired choice of opponents.

Paul now says he has another boxer in mind for his next fight. Jake is interested in taking on a fighter with a legendary name. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. could be next on Jake Paul’s fight card.

Jake spoke with the Boxing with Chris Mannix podcast about his interest in the bout. Paul says he is looking to shut up critics who have been critical of him for never facing a real boxer. Chavez Jr. does have some impressive professional credentials.

“It’s interesting. I like that fight a lot, because it silences the critics. He was a former world champion, and I know I could beat him. And you look at his record, it’s like 50 wins or something, and I don’t even know the losses, but it’s a good record. So that challenge excites me and I’m down.

And this is what people don’t understand is that, even after I knocked out Woodley, they were all like, ‘Fight a real boxer.’ I’m like, ‘You guys, I tried, and he dropped out of the fight two weeks before.’ So I want to fight a real boxer, newsflash, and I’m going to. Just have some f*cking patience.”

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. boasts an impressive pro record of 53 wins and 6 losses. 34 of those victories have come via knockout. Jake Paul may finally get his chance to prove himself against a legitimate fighter if things work out.
