Pussy Cat Dolls were the most iconic ’00s girl group. The band became a formative part of every girl’s childhood, back in the day. Fans were obsessing over the PCD reunion tour but sadly it got cancelled.

The hierarchies within the group came to notice when the lead singer broke the sad news to the fans. Nicole Scherzinger has confirmed that the highly anticipated event has been canceled amid rising spikes in the coronavirus pandemic. The announcement quickly turned into a textbook example of band members not entirely being on the same page.

“Thank you to everyone who had tickets to see PCD — we are so appreciative of your support and loyalty,” Scherzinger, wrote via Instagram Story on Friday, January 7. “With the ever-evolving circumstances surrounding the pandemic, I understand the decision that the tour dates had to be canceled.” Nicole added that she had “invested a huge amount of time, creative energy and my own finances” into the reunion and is “naturally incredibly saddened” by the cancellation.

Nicole’s announcement sent shockwaves through Pussy Cat Doll’s legions of loyal followers. In addition to this, several of her fellow girl group members claimed that they learned their official reunion was scrapped solely via Nicole’s social media message. It seems that Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar, were not aware of the update.

In a joint statement posted to their Instagram accounts, the two wrote, “We want to say how incredibly disappointed we are to learn of an announcement made on Instagram that The Pussycat Dolls reunion tour is canceled. As of now, there has been no official notification of that.” Jess and Carmit concluded their statement by writing that the situation is “out of our control” and that they “all had big dreams for this brand to expand” Pussy Cat Dolls founder Robin Antin posted her own statement on social media after Nicole’s announcement.

Antin asserted that both she and the group have been waiting on rescheduled dates and have been “working so hard to make it happen.” It’s worth noting that Robin currently has a lawsuit pending against the lead singer. Nicole is apparently refusing to perform until her contract is renegotiated to 75% and she’s given complete creative control. We really hope that the reunion gets rescheduled.
