Scott Pilgrim is one of the most loved characters from the world of graphic novels. The character had a cult-classic status before Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World hit the screens in 2009. Now fans are about to get a new treatment on that franchise.

The film was met with critical acclaim, but became a financial failure. It still remains loved by its fans, and has helped in keeping the love for Scott Pilgrim alive for all these years. Now Scott Pilgrim is once again coming back, though this time as an anime, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix & Universal Studio Group’s UCP division are collaborating over the upcoming project. Bryan Lee O’Malley, who is the creative force behind Scott Pilgrim, is writing and executively producing the series alongside BenDavid Grabinski.

Grabinski was the showrunner behind the revived kid’s show Are You Afraid of the Dark? at Nickelodeon. The series is not ordered yet, so it is hard to say whether they will be moving forward with it.

Science SARU, the anime house, will take the project over for the animations once it is finalized. Eunyoung Choi will be the producer for the series, while Abel Gongora will oversee the direction of the series.
