The Rock has become more than just an actor and professional wrestler. The Great One is an entertainment mogul. His interests are diverse, and he makes the investments to match.

Dwayne Johnson and partner Dany Garcia have been working on a re-launch of the XFL since buying the league from Vince McMahon. Things are finally starting to come together. Johnson hopes to capitalize on the momentum the league had before COVID-19 caused operations to abruptly cease in 2020. The new version of the XFL is set to launch in the Spring of 2023.

Johnson recently announced the date for the start of training camp. XFL players will report on January 3, 2023. That is exactly one year from today. The Rock shared the big news in an Instagram video.

“For all us FOOTBALL FANS I got BIG & EXCITING NEWS!!

In exactly 365 DAYS, we will officially kick off our 2023 @XFL TRAINING CAMPS.

As an XFL owner and a man who has put his callused, dinosaur hands in the dirt – I can guarantee you that our XFL PLAYERS will be the hardest and hungriest workers in the room.

Our message to the FOOTBALL NATION ~ we are building our one of kind XFL CULTURE for you.

XFL is watching.

LFG.”

The XFL will have some competition upon its return. The revived United States Football League will kick off in April of this year. That was the original start date for Johnson’s version of the league. Even though plans changed, The Rock believes his new XFL will be the cream that rises to the top of the Spring football world.
