Jared Leto is well-known for his work in Dallas Buyers Club, which earned him the Oscar For Best Supporting Actor. The World is currently threatened by the new variant ‘Omicron,’ and that is causing the actor’s latest project a bit of an issue. The actor was on his way to releasing another film starring him, but it was postponed due to the new variant.

The film, Morbius, starring Jared Leto, has been pushed back to April 1 due to the omicron spike. It was supposed to be released in theatres on January 28. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Sony and Marvel picture has already been postponed multiple times.

Sony said in January that the film’s release date will be pushed back from October 2021 to early 2022. Morbius stars Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a doctor who developed a rare blood condition and converted himself into a living vampire in order to heal himself. The treatment mixes electroshock therapy and bats. However, the effects were disastrous, and he gained vampiric characteristics.

Morbius: The Living Vampire fought Spider-Man several times in the comics before becoming a heroic figure. Roy Thomas and Gil Kane created the character, which first appeared in the Amazing Spider-Man comics in 1971.

The film also stars Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Tyrese Gibson, and Jared Harris, and is directed by Daniel Espinosa. Michael Keaton, who played The Vulture in Sony and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Homecoming, appears in the film in some way, presumably repeating his role.

Morbius’ debut trailer implied for the first time that Sony Pictures’ Universe of Marvel Characters is linked to Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe, not only by the involvement of Keaton but also by city signs labeling Spider-Man a murderer.

The Morbius announcement comes as Sony and Marvel celebrate Spider-Man: Far From Home’s box office success. Fans hoping to see Oscar winner Jared Leto in fangs will have to wait a little longer.
