Substance abuse is widely known to be a rampant problem in the music industry. It took Mac Miller and many others from us too soon. Enablers within celebrities’ inner circles often feed these terrible addictions. Lil Xan knows a thing or two about addiction and the rap game. He also has a unique take on snitches.

Lil Xan has not been shy about sharing his abuse problems. He dragged his former manager Stat Quo last week for giving him pills during the worst time of his addiction. Fans immediately responded by calling him a snitch.

Xan took to Instagram Live to address the accusations. He said he can’t be considered a snitch. Only gang members can snitch according to the rapper.

“It’s like half are saying, ‘Yo, thank God you are spreading the word.’ And the other half is, ‘Oh, you’re a snitch now, bro. He didn’t make you do that.’ All this stuff. Like, bro, I’m not a gang banger.

“I’m a civilian. How am I a snitch? Did I go to court and rat on my gang? I don’t have a gang. You can’t snitch if you’re not a f*cking gang member, bro. Miss me with that. I’m trying to help other artists, particularly in my same similar situation, not die or go down the same path and get in bad deals.”

Lil Xan should be applauded for coming forward and trying to spread a positive message and get help for his personal demons. The take about only gang members being able to snitch is questionable and comes down to one’s cultural perspective. He’s just happy to be alive. Now, he wants to use his experience to help others in the industry who are facing similar challenges.
