Twitch has changed the way an entire generation consumes entertainment. While Generation X, millennials, and baby boomers grew up watching traditional television, the concept is foreign to youngsters who are being raised on today’s internet. E-sports, speedruns, and even casual playthroughs have made the live streaming culture a huge part of our media culture.

Gordon Ramsay is a huge television celebrity. He is also known as one of the world’s greatest chefs. Ramsay recently got dragged by Twitter for not knowing what Twitch even is.

A video went viral of Gordon asking a contestant on Next Level Chef who said they stream their cooking show on Twitch what the platform was. Twitter immediately piled on. Users trolled Ramsay for not being aware of one of the largest platforms for cooking programming today.

“When Gordon Ramsay finds out about twitch and asks why are streamers watching his show on twitch without his permission.”

“I wanna see a stream of Gordon Ramsay watching twitch streamers watching him”

“I don’t know what this means for 2022 but if Gordon Ramsay is going to take on Twitch and get bombarded with OMEGALULs, I am here for it”

Gordon Ramsay was a good sport about the whole thing. He changed his Twitch profile to read “Always near food….doesn’t know what Twitch is.” He even replied to a few streamers and had some fun with the entire situation. Despite his ignorance of one of the biggest streaming platforms on the planet, Chef Ramsay has no problem laughing at himself.

What do you think about Gordon Ramsay being unaware of the existence of Twitch? Share your thoughts in the comments?
