Nicki Minaj is getting bad press as of late. The rapper has found herself in hot waters due to the controversy surrounding the Jennifer Hough case. For those who don’t know, Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty is accused of raping Hough.

Hough also claims that the husband-wife duo are associated with a gang called The Bloods, but Minaj has vehemently denied the allegations. The whole fiasco pertains to a clip of Minaj and Petty walking with a bunch of men who happen to throw up gang signs.

The clip in question is from October 2021 and was taken in New York. The two had made a trip to New York at the time. According to Minaj, the people accompanying her were no gang members but her fans.

“I was quickly surrounded by my fans, particularly in this instance because my pink Rolls Royce was in the direct sightline of apartment buildings across the street from where I had stopped,” she said during a recent court appearance.

“While my husband and I recognized a few friends and acquaintances from the neighborhood that night, including Rico Danna, an artist whom I intend to sign to my label, none of them belong to any gang.

“Further, we did not plan to meet anyone in advance because we had not planned to stop there. Once I came out of the car, the news traveled quickly, and people just showed up.”

The “Anaconda” songstress clarified neither she nor her husband threw up gang signs during their trip to New York. She also told the judge they didn’t mention Hough “or this case that night.”
