After years of making people laugh with their hit show “Impractical Jokers,” Joe Gatto has something to say about his future on the show. It might not be what fans were expecting.
Joe Gatto posted a shocking message on his Instagram, he alluded to “the challenges I am facing” and promised to “create new ways to entertain you.” He then announced his departure from the show.
“Sorry in advance for the long and more-serious-than-usual note below, I just wanted to let you all know that I will no longer be involved with Impractical Jokers,”
He cited the reason for his unexpected departure as personal issues. He also revealed that he is splitting with his wife. The couple decided to amicably part ways and he wants to focus his time on being the best father and co-parenting their two children. Gatto also thanked the hardworking crew members who’s work goes unnoticed behind the scenes.
How Gatto’s departure affects the show’s future is still unclear. Earlier this year, the stars of the long-running TruTV series struck a deal with WarnerMedia and had their iconic show for a tenth season. The group consisting of Gatto, James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano were also slated to produce an original unscripted show for TNT, TBS and TruTV as well as HBO Max.
Currently, the group is also involved with The Misery Index. The show is in it’s third season with TBS. Just last year they launched Impractical Jokers : The Movie and are making Impractical Jokers: After Party with Joey Fatone.
Gatto’s sudden departure from the show comes as a blow to the show’s fans. His presence on the show will certainly be missed. Meanwhile, you can check out Gatto’s post below.
