Eminem’s contributions to hip-hop culture is incalculable. Slim Shady’s achievements continue to mount one by one. The legendary rapper is also not afraid to remind audiences about his humble roots, as he was poor as a child and was depicted as such in the film 8 Mile. Eminem has recently joined the exclusive Bored Ape Yacht Club, which is comprised of elite NFT owners.

Jimmy Fallon, Post Malone, Steph Curry, Jermaine Dupri, Snoop Dogg, Lil Baby, and Gunna are among the celebs that have received an ape token. A total of 10,000 unique ape photos are available in the BAYC NFT collection. It originally went live in April 2021, with the first apes costing 0.08 Ethereum (ETH), which was roughly $185 at the time.

Since then, their popularity has surged, and Bored Ape has become one of the most sought-after NFTs, with the lowest listed NFT fetching roughly 52 ETH, or well over $200,000. The BAYC NFT series has a trading value of $1.5 billion after only five months.

The success of the BAYC could be attributed to the originality of the visuals as well as the package of concrete benefits that come with a non-fungible token. The secretive team behind BAYC, Yuga Labs, organizes exclusive events throughout the world that are difficult to get into but open to token holders. The company’s website also made a recent statement regarding this.

A limited NFT collection where the token itself doubles as your membership to a swamp club for apes.

Yuga Labs has certainly given the Bored Ape Yacht Club an air of exclusivity that draws new members. Snoop Dogg received his token last week and changed his social media avatar to his Bored Ape, as has become fashionable. Eminem followed suit on the last day of 2021. His new Instagram and Twitter avatar is a new Bored Ape NFT, which was purchased by an account called “Shady Holdings” for 123.45 ETH (about $461,868).

Shady’s ape is wearing a hat that looks a lot like Marshall’s iconic Kangol. After the success of his own short series ShadyCon, Em appears to be taking NFTs more seriously. The story behind the image, on the other hand, may be depressing for fans who were hoping that a new avatar would signify the start of an album promotion campaign.
