Betty White has passed away at 99. The world lost a true friend on New Year’s Eve. The comedy legend meant the world to millions of fans who are expressing their shock and sadness.

The beloved member of the Golden Girls cast and so many other memorable hits has died just weeks before a milestone 100th birthday on 17 January. Betty White shined for 80 years in the business. Betty became a cultural icon with Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore Show.

The cause of her death is unknown at this time. Authorities confirmed with TMZ that she passed away on Friday, New Years Eve. Betty didn’t have any sudden ailments, nor was she battling any particular terminal illness. It is believed that she died from natural causes.

Betty passed away in her home. Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Mike Lopez told The New York Post that officers responded to a radio call Friday at about 9:30 a.m. concerning “a natural death investigation” at the 99-year-old’s home in Brentwood, Calif.

Taking full precaution, Betty rarely left her home once the COVID-19 pandemic began. TMZ has spotted fans stopping by to place flowers under a tree at the gate, and pay their respects. A make-shit memorial site right outside her home is now underway.

This is certainly a tragic way to end 2021. Betty White’s legacy and memory will certainly be celebrated for decades to come. We are deeply saddened by this loss. RIP Betty White.
