Anderson Silva is considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history for good reason. He went up against many top names in the MMA world when he used to be active. After his release from UFC last year, Silva hasn’t been quiet and is not finished in combat sports at all.

The Spider recently squared off against Tito Ortiz on September 11 at Triller Club in his second boxing match. Similar to his first one, Anderson Silva displayed immense skill and technique.

So much so, that he knocked out Tito Ortiz within the first round in just 81 seconds. Silva also previously noted that he doesn’t rule out facing off against Jake Paul in a boxing match.

While speaking on the Weighing In podcast, former MMA referee John McCarthy agreed with Dana White’s opinion that Jake Paul should fight someone his own size. He then suggested that Anderson Silva would be a solid opponent for The Problem Child.

“I can understand Dana’s frustration with Jake Paul in the fact that he keeps attacking UFC fighters, as far as; he keeps trying to call out UFC fighters. And he’s always calling out guys that are weight classes below him. And I agree with Dana in that. It’s like, ‘Hey, take on somebody who is of your size. And I’m not even saying of your age.’ Because he’s pretty young; but someone who’s reasonably [his size].

If you want to go after the big names and stuff, go after Anderson Silva. He’s boxing. He’s 47 years old now; 46, 47, right? But he’s an actual boxer, and he is of your size. Because he’ll weigh the 190-some pounds, and he’ll be above that during the fight night. And he’s a UFC champion; way more than if you wanna say Tyron Woodley and stuff, as far as title defenses and all those things. Here’s a guy you could really make your name off.”

Dana White also guaranteed Anderson Silva will never fight Jake Paul. While Dana White seems confident, it is ultimately up to Jake Paul whether he wants to face off against Anderson Silva or not. So it remains to be seen if that match ever happens or not.
