Russell Westbrook’s skills as a professional basketball player speak for themselves. This is because he is a nine-time NBA All-Star and earned the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2016–17 season. It seems Westbrook fired back at his critics as well.

Westbrook was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers earlier this year and there were a lot of expectations from him. For many fans, he simply did not live up to expectations.

The Los Angeles Lakers simply haven’t been having a good time this season as they have been plagued by multiple injuries and controversies, especially when it comes to LeBron James.

While speaking to ESPN, Russell Westbrook talked about his slump in performance lately and also took the opportunity to blast fans who have unreasonable expectations from him.

“Honestly, I think I’ve been fine. The conversation has been heavily on how I’m playing and what I’m doing, but I think people are expecting me to have f***ing 25, 15 and 15, which, that is not normal. Everybody has to understand, like, that’s not a normal thing that people do consistently.”

We will have to wait and see whether Russell Westbrook will be able to get back in form during this season as the Los Angles Lakers certainly need it.
