Dr. Dre and his ex-wife Nicole Young went through an ugly courtroom drama over their divorce. It concluded with Dr. Dre emptying his pockets.
TMZ reported, Dr. Dre and his ex-wife Nicole Young divorce settlement has reached an agreement. For what it’s worth, Dre’s is “delighted” with the outcome. Nicole is getting only a fraction of Dre’s massive estate.
Recently, Dre and Nicole filed their property settlement agreement. It’s understood that Dre has agreed to pay a whopping $100 million dollars to Nicole in the settlement. The hip-hop legend will have to pay half of the sum now and the rest a year from now.
This eye-watering amount of money won’t put a dent on Dre’s massive net worth of $820 million which will only grow by next year. As to why Nicole didn’t get half of his money, there’s a prenup the ex-couple had signed. Though Nicole challenged the authenticity of the prenup earlier.
Dre gets to keep 7 of the properties they own. The list includes a Malibu home, 2 homes in Calabasas, and 4 properties in the L.A. area. In addition of the $100 million Brentwood estate.
Dre also gets to keep full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interests in various partnerships and trusts. Additionally, he gets to keep all of their Apple stocks, which includes proceeds from the sale of Beats by Dre. They divide a fleet of vehicles- Dre gets 6 and Nicole, 4.
As for Nicole’s part she gets to keep jewelry, cash and bank accounts that she managed during their marriage. She must also pay her own legal fees which amounts to millions. Sources close to Dre revealed she might have gotten a sweeter deal if she settled a year ago. The settlement forecloses Young’s ability to get spousal support.
