Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia for so many, passed away on December 27, 2016. The actress is forever known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films and her legacy lives on through CGI. Fisher left behind daughter Billie Lourd, who would become famous in her own right. She remembered her mother five years after her passing.

Carrie Fisher was Hollywood Royalty. The acclaimed actress died five years ago at age 60 after suffering a heart attack. Billie Lourd opened up about how things have changed after her mom’s death.

Billi Lourd took to Instagram on Sunday to honor her mom. She shared a heartfelt throwback photo of herself as a child next to her smiling mother and a koala. “People always ask me what stage of grief I’m in. And my answer is never simple. I’m in a different stage of grief in each moment of every day,” She wrote on the caption.

“My grief is a multi course meal with many complicated ingredients. An amuse bouche of bargaining followed by an anger appetizer with a side of depression, acceptance for the entree and of course a little denial for dessert.

And that’s how grief should be – all things all at once – actually there is no ‘should’ in grief – grief just is whatever it is for you and that is how it ‘should be….  ❤️sending my love to anyone out there who needs it 💕ℹ️ Ⓜ️ℹ️💲💲 🌱🅾️⛎ Ⓜ️🅾️Ⓜ️🅱️🌱💕.”

Lourd continued the memorial via her Instagram Stories. She shared a snap of herself riding a waterslide. “My momby loved a good water park ❤️ best way to spend her day today ❤️,” she wrote on Sunday. Lourd also shared a Macy Gray song in honor of the first concert she attended with her mom. She gave a glimpse of Fisher’s favorite foods. A risotto recipe and Baskin Robbins Cookies and Cream flavored Ice Cream.

Billie Lourd played the role of Lieutenant Connix in the 2015 Star Wars sequel film The Force Awakens, along with Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). In 2019, Lourd played Gigi in the movie Booksmart. She is set to appear in the upcoming movie Ticket to Paradise alongside Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
