The lines between fantasy and reality are often blurred in the world of rap music. Some MC’s will openly talk about their violent criminal pasts. Others have no such history and still spin such tales as a way to tell a more interesting story.

Things occasionally get all too real in the hip-hop game. The recent murder of Memphis rapper Young Dolph solidified the idea that rap is a dangerous industry. Many veterans have called for a stop to the violence.

Bronx Rapper Kay Flock appears to be one of those who took the lifestyle too far. According to DJ Akademiks, he was arrested last night for the December 16th murder of a 24-year-old man. The murder led to a brief manhunt for the rapper, who has now been taken into custody.

Police believe the shooting was gang related. They have not released a confirmed motive. The murder happened in a Manhattan barber shop.

Kay Flock is just 18 years old. He recently signed with Capital Records. He was thought to be one of the next great artists to come out of the Bronx.

Instead, the young rapper faces murder charges. It will spell the end of his career if he is convicted. The story of Kay Flock is just another tragic reminder of how real things can get in the rap game.
