Sports can be extremely unpredictable. Players sometimes come out of nowhere to deliver legendary performances when they are least expected. Some rise from obscurity to become major stars. Major stars often seem to become jinxed and never recover.

Kemba Walker of the New York Knicks was believed to be in the latter category by many fans. He was recently taken out of the team’s rotation due to a series of poor performances. Last night, he stunned everybody with a Hall of Fame worthy show against the Washington Wizards.

Walker put up 44 points in the losing effort. He barely missed a triple-double. Fans were shocked at the game he put together.

Kemba strung together his highest scoring output since 2019. It was a welcome surprise for the struggling Knicks. The team is currently sitting at 14-18 and could use all the help they can get.

Walker added 9 rebounds and 8 assists. It still wasn’t enough to overcome the Wizards. Washington took home the victory by a score of 124-117.

Kemba Walker’s improved play will be even more welcome if the rest of the team can start to turn things around. He will get another chance to dazzle the league when New York faces the Atlanta Hawks at noon on Christmas Day. Time will tell if he can unwrap yet another unexpected gift for his team.
