The world is bracing for a long winter due to the emergence of the Omicron variant of the pandemic COVID-19 virus. Holiday travel plans have been disrupted around the world. Major sporting events are being cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled. Even the Kardashian/Jenner clan has to scale back their festivities.

Celebrities are not immune to those effects. Uncertainty has clouded the confidence many had when originally making their plans for the holidays. Many a gathering will not come to fruition once again this Christmas.

For Kris Jenner, that means there will be no over-the-top Christmas celebration this year. The norm for the Jenner and Kardashian clans is to throw a huge holiday bash. The virus has forced this year’s celebration to be scaled down significantly, according to TMZ.

Sources close to the family say that Kris doesn’t feel comfortable bringing a large group together to celebrate. COVID cases have seen a startling rise in the area. She doesn’t think it’s worth the risk.

That doesn’t mean there will be no holiday joy for the family this year. Kris, her daughters, and her grandchildren will still hold a small Christmas Eve gathering at her home. It will be much more subdued and intimate than originally planned.

Past Jenner-Kardashian Christmas bashes have included a litany of A-list guests. Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, and more have attended the party in past years. This year’s party will lack that star power.

The family, like so many others, will do their best to enjoy the ones they loved this holiday season. It is never a bad thing to have a close gathering with loved ones. Kudos to Kris Jenner for playing it safe while still making sure to remember what’s most important this Christmas.
