Fetty Wap invaded the rap game in late 2014 with his melodic lyrics and one-eyed style. Drake decided to join the tidal wave in June 2015 by contributing a verse to Fetty’s third song “My Way.” The Drizzy remix was never released on streaming services and there’s a reason for that.

Fetty spoke on DJ Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast where he stated how he never wanted to have a line on Drake’s rendition of “My Way,” preferring to let fellow Remy Boyz rapper Monty shine as the lead artist.

“That was Monty’s breakthrough record, When we first did the record, I asked Drake, Yo, could you just take my verse off and keep Monty up there and just leave me on the hook?”

“The first and last time I ever spoke to him is when he asked me to get on the song and that was it. I haven’t even seen him in person yet.”

Fetty Wap explained how he left the Drake version off his self-titled 2015 album, which surely irritated the 6 God.

Fetty Wap’s My Way reached No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2015, giving him a pair of Top 10 songs alongside “Trap Queen.” The song, which was produced by JayFrance, has also been certified three times platinum.
