Designer Virgil Abloh died last month after an intense battle with cancer. His close friend Drake chose to honor his memory by getting inked.

Drake recently got a new tattoo in honor of his late friend Virgil Abloh. The tattoo is located on Drizzy’s forearm. The design is based on a photo of Virgil throwing a kite down a Louis Vuitton runway in 2018 during Paris Fashion Week.

The tattoo artist, Joaquin Ganga, inked Drake and shared the picture on his social media. Joaquin specializes in black and white realism. He previously tattooed celebrities like Post Malone, Chris Brown and LeBron James.

Following Virgil’s passing, Drake hopped onto Instagram to share several photos honoring his “brother.” At the time he wrote,

“My plan is to touch the sky 1000 more times for you, love you eternally brother thank you for everything.”

Virgil previously helped design Drake’s private jet as well as a Patek Philippe Nautilus watch that Drake mentioned on his collaboration with future on “Life Is Good.” He raps on the song, “Virgil got a Patek on my wrist goin’ nuts.”

Drake’s recent tattoo adds to his collection which includes tributes to  Lil Wayne, Sade, The Beatles, Skepta, Rihanna, Denzel Washington, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. In addition to these, he has also got tattoos which reflects his admiration for Aaliyah and Michael Jackson.
