Jon Jones is one of the most popular fighters in the history of the UFC. For the past few months, Jones had made it his life’s mission to go after Francis Ngannou’s UFC Heavyweight Championship. Jones has also been on a mission to get paid. It seems his next opponent has been confirmed.

Jones also previously stated that he wants to be a champion in 2022. The former UFC light heavyweight champion recently announced that he’ll be making a return to fighting and it is likely taking place at an event of Fury Grappling.

Jones previously called out all the ‘big boys’ of the Heavyweight division as he is certainly looking for a fight. It was previously unlikely to be with AEW star Jake Hager in the end.

While speaking on AEW Unrestricted podcast, Jake Hager stated that Jon Jones once again reached out to him again for a grappling match in New Jersey which might happen in January next year.

“So he reached out to Josh Rafferty again, and wanted to do a wrestling and submission match in New Jersey on December 9. As an Oklahoma country boy who’s wrestling since he was four years old, hits me right in my wheelhouse. I’m like, ‘Yeah, you’re the greatest of all time, but you’re not going to take me down.’”

Jake Hager also previously stated that Jon Jones has gone quiet regarding a potential fight between the two. Jon Jones has had a tumultuous 2021, to say the least, especially with his recent domestic violence arrest. It remains to be seen if Jones will face Hager next year or not.
