Spider-Man: No Way Home is garnering lots of attention right now and for the right reasons. One of the most anticipated movies of the year is finally out and fans can’t seem to get enough of it. Amid the hype, Tom has hinted at producing future Spider-Man movies which is a welcome surprise for everyone.
If there’s a Spider-Man 4 without Tom Holland, the six-time Spidey star wishes to continue with the franchise as a producer. Sony Pictures chair Tom Rothman confirmed to Comic Book the studio is committed to at least one more Spider-Man appearance in a Disney-Marvel movie. However Holland says he’s not contractually obligated to return to the role after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As the 25-year-old actor plans his next steps he’ll star in and executive produce Sony’s Uncharted. Then he would reunite with Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal for a Fred Astaire biopic. Holland is facing an uncertain future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Holland told The Hollywood Reporter that he wants to produce something instead of acting in a movie.
“In all honesty, I don’t know the answer to [my Spider-Man future]. There have been conversations about the future of Spider-Man. Whether it will be with me, I’m not too sure yet, Maybe I’ll be a producer or something, I don’t know. But I do know that I love this character and I would be sad to say goodbye, but I have achieved basically everything I wanted to achieve as this character.”
Not ready to say goodbye, Pascal and Marvel Studios Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige, who confirmed Sony and Disney are sticking together for a potential Spider-Man 4. He is very confident in having Holland for the next installment in the franchise.
Whatever the outcome of Tom’s decision is, we will be getting quality Tom Holland content either as an actor or a producer. Fans would be delighted no matter how he goes on about life if he enjoys it. We can only cross our finger and hope for more amazing news from the actor.
