Jon Jones became a household name during his run as a top UFC star. He was the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion as recently as 2018. He has also accumulated his share of baggage outside of the Octagon. Now a recent domestic violence case is behind him.

Jones was arrested on domestic violence charges in September. He’s also got a history of trouble with the law, including a DUI. The troubled fighter also has an ongoing disagreement with UFC over his pay.

A plea deal has now been struck in Jones’ domestic violence case. TMZ Sports has reported that court records show that the misdemeanor charge was dropped on December 14 after Bones plead no contest to a charge of destroying property.

The deal includes provisions that require Jones to stay out of trouble with the law. He must also pay restitution to the victim of his crime. The fighter will be required to take anger management counseling.

Jones allegedly pulled his fiancé‘s hair and head butted a police car on September 24. The incident occurred at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The initial call to police came in at around 5:00 AM.

Jon Jones has a stellar record in professional mixed martial arts. His record of 26-1 makes him the #6 ranked athlete pound-for-pound in the promotion. He’s got a lot left in the tank. It will be up to him to keep his behavioral issues in check if he ever wants to see that potential pay off for him again.
