Alize Johnson has tested positive for COVID-19. The Chicago Bulls forward got the bad news on the morning of Monday, December 13. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on the news. Johnson becomes the tenth Bull to be placed into COVID protocol currently.

Wojnarowski tweeted the news just after 10 AM eastern time. He noted that there is hope that guard Coby White can return for Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. The Bulls currently have only eight active roster players. That is the league minimum to take the court.

“Chicago Bulls forward Alize Johnson has tested positive for Covid and entered league protocols, source tells ESPN.

Bulls have 10 players in protocols now — with hope that guard Coby White can return on Tuesday night vs. Detroit. For now, the Bulls have eight active players — the league minimum to play a game.”

The Bulls need to get the problem under control, or they’re going to have problems fielding a team. Even with the return of White, if just two more players enter the protocol, they will be forced to hastily sign players or forfeit games. They’re walking a slippery slope.

The Bulls are desperately trying to hang on as the virus ravages the team. At 17-10, they’re currently at #3 in the East. Chicago will take on Detroit tomorrow night at 8 PM eastern.
