Black Panther franchise is looking for a total reboot. With the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman, the franchise was already in jeopardy before it started the sequel. Seems like they have found a viable solution.
It remains uncertain how the film plans to address the absence of the late Chadwick Boseman. Marvel President Kevin Feige made it clear that the universe will move on without T’Challa, and that the upcoming film will further the mythology and inspiration of Wakanda.
There are two rumors now that point towards yet another revamp. Even after shooting about 70% of the sequel, Wakanda Forever, actress Letitia Wright is rumored to be out of the picture. The rumor stems from her failing to comply with vaccination mandates and other issues like injury on set. Wright has been criticized for her anti-vaccination comments on set and has since denied the accounts.
The release of the film was pushed back (November 11) along with several other Disney properties. Giant Freakin Robot previously stated that Marvel has decided to move forward with M’Baku (played by Winston Duke) as the new Black Panther. However, we are not sure if this is confirmed.
There are also conflicting reports that say Letitia Wright, will be continuing with the project despite rumors of her possible exit. Directed by Black Panther‘s Ryan Coogler, the sequel sees a return of many familiar characters such as Daniel Kaluuya’s W’Kabi, Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, and hopefully, Wright as T’Challa’s sister and Wakanda’s leading scientist, Shuri.
