Delonte West had a wild run in with Boyonton Beach police back in October. The retired NBA veteran was found by cops outside their station, apparently drunk and holding open containers of alcohol. He was arrested at the scene.

West pleaded not guilty to the charges in early November. The troubled former NBA star faced charges of obstruction, open container violations, and disorderly intoxication. TMZ now reports that the case has been settled.

West has agreed to pay $100 and stay out of trouble in a deal with prosecutors in his case. Once he pays off the relatively cheap fine, he will be expected to not get arrested again. If he complies the whole situation will be in the past.

West’s drunken fit outside of the police station was disturbing. He used homophobic slurs and told the cops he was better than LeBron James. Delonte was clearly intoxicated during the incident.

He will have a plea conference on January 13 to finalize the details of the deal. As long as he keeps his nose clean, he should escape the incident mostly unscathed. The only thing that took a true hit is his pride.

The embarrassing incident wasn’t a big surprise to many NBA fans. Delonte West has a well-documented history of substance abuse. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban previously helped him seek treatment.
