Stephen Colbert Was Rejected From Guest Role In Sex And The City

Earlier in his career, Stephen Colbert almost bagged a guest role in Sex and The City. It would have been a interesting addition to his résumé if he got the role.

During an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he discussed this opportunity with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, known for their iconic roles in Sex and The City.

Cynthia recalled, “Miranda dated a guy who was trying to leave quickly after the date, and she kept saying, ‘It’s fine- you’re not that into me. I understand ,’ and he finally had to blurt out ‘I have diarrhea, and I have to leave'”. It turns out Stephen was almost cast into that guy’s role.

Stephen shared, “The opening line of that scene is, ‘That was some hot biryani!’ And I know that because I auditioned for that part and didn’t get it. He continued, “Evidently, I did not have the acting chops to act like I had diarrhea. I did not play a convincing sick person.”

Even though Stephen was disappointed with the outcome, he still thinks about the role when he goes to an Indian restaurant. It’s probably a blessing in disguise because Stephen wasn’t the right choice for the part.
