The iCarly reboot series premiered on Paramount+ on June 17, 2021. Its nostalgic return was a huge hit with fans. The series was successfully renewed for a second season and is currently in the filming process.
The beloved Nickelodeon sitcom originally aired from 2007–2012. The reboot is essentially an adult-version set nine years after the events of the previous series, with the cast all grown up.
About the upcoming season Miranda Cosgrove says Carly Shay is “figuring out what she wants her web show to be“. All of the cast, including Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress, will reappear in season 2. Additionally, there is going to be a new guest star joining the crew.
There’s some exciting news that will have you yelling, “Hug me, brotha!” Miranda revealed that there’s “a really good chance” her former Drake and Josh co-star, Josh Peck will be making an appearance this season.
I feel like in the second season she’s kind of really figuring out what she wants her web show to be. She doesn’t want it to be exactly like it was before. So that’s just been fun finding what kind of crazy sketches and things you would do as an adult, versus what we did when we were little. Miranda told E! news.
If you haven’t watched the show yet, here’s quick run down without spoilers. Carly Shay has moved back to Seattle where she shares an apartment with her roommate Harper. Following two divorces and a failed tech start-up, Freddie Benson has moved back to live with his mother. Freddie is accompanied by his adopted 11-year-old stepdaughter Millicent. When Carly decides to relaunch her iCarly webshow, she receives help from Spencer, Freddie, and her new friends.
