Drew McIntyre remains one of the top Superstars in WWE and certainly has a lot of passion for the pro wrestling business. He is a former two-time WWE Champion and was the face of the company during the pandemic era as the WWE Champion. He also has a good relationship with Vince McMahon. McIntyre also has a hilarious reason for all the stories he tells.
WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is one of the best professional boxers in the world right now. For the past couple of years, Fury has been teasing a match against WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, with Fury once stating that he is ready to face him ‘anytime’.
While speaking with Metro, Drew McIntyre stated that he wants to face off against Tyson Fury in a No DQ match because it would make for a more entertaining match.
“In that environment, we could get away with a lot more. It would be a good first match – I mean, he’s had one, but a good, proper first match that people go, ‘That was a good match.’ And it’d be very entertaining for the fans, if that was the stipulation. I know he’s not gonna be doings 450s, intricate move sequences.
But it’s my job as somebody who’s been around for 20 years to look at the situation logically, figure out the best way to approach my match with his athletic abilities – and entertainment – that he brings to his world and our world,” he added. “I like to think I’ve shown at this stage I can put together a match with pretty much anybody, no matter where they’re at – including Fury, and he’s got a lot more to work with than some of our superstars who are less experienced that I’ve worked with.”
Fans would certainly get behind seeing the two behemoths duke it out in a match somewhere down the line. We will have to see if WWE will be able to finalize a deal with Tyson Fury.
