Skip Bayless has always been rather opinionated. At 70 years old, the sports columnist is showing no signs of slowing down, it would turn out. He is of course co-host with Shannon Sharp on Undisputed on Fox Sports 1, and for years worked on First Take on ESPN 2. It was a statement concerning Patrick Mahomes that has garnered a bit of interest it would seem.

It was actually during today’s show that Bayless went a tad in depth about how Mahones is not as good as he should be right now, essentially throwing some shade the American football quarterback’s way.

The 26 year old Mahomes plays of course for the Kansas City Chiefs – his first NFL team. Of course he played his college ball back with the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team, he being a native of Tyler, Texas.

“Patrick Mahomes has the single worst throwing mechanics in the league and it ain’t close. More @Undisputed, now on FS1…I cannot remember a young quarterback, who’s been an MVP and Super Bowl MVP, falling this far this fast.”

Despite the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are having their “worst statistical season to date,” hotnewhiphop.com stated that the critique that Bayless shot the young player is a tad too harsh, and many are indeed agreeing with that sentiment.

What needs to be seen though, is: Are the comments by Bayless just rough for being rough’s sake, or does he hope to light a fire beneath Mahomes moving forward – something Bayless has done in the past through his work, writing and broadcasting experience?
