The SEC Championship is one of the most coveted prizes in college football. It’s a conference steeped in tradition. The winner of the annual title game almost always goes on to compete for a national championship.

This year, it was the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs vying for the prestigious championship. The college football titans were set to vie for positioning in the College Football Playoff. Before the game, Georgia’s bulldog mascot, the famous Uga, decided to mark the field as UGA territory.

Video posted to social media shows the adorable pup stopping for a bathroom break before kickoff. Uga stopped at the right hash mark near the four-yard line and let a present for any player who might have the misfortune of being tackled just short of the goal line. Talk about insult to injury.

As for the game itself, the Crimson Tide pulled off a stunningly easy victory, 41-24. The win earned Alabama the #1 seed in this year’s College Football Playoff. The Bulldogs will take on Michigan. The Tide will face upstart the Cincinnati Bearcats, the first Group of 5 school to qualify for the playoff since its inception.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young compiled 421 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. Young effectively locked up the Heisman Trophy with the effort. The Tide and Bulldogs now set their sights on winning a national title.

Georgia and the Michigan Wolverines will clash in one playoff semifinal at the Orange Bowl on December 31. Alabama and Cincinnati will lock horns in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on the same day. The winners will face off to crown college football’s next national champion.
