A rumor circulated around social media recently that said Young Thug was going to be at a specific Walmart on Tuesday, November 30. The gossip was that he was going to show up and buy everybody their Christmas gifts and other holiday purchases. As bogus as it sounds, several fans did show up expecting the rapper to show.

Unfortunately, it was all a hoax. A social media video shows Thug’s fans pouring into a Walmart. They voraciously gobble up merchandise. Several are seen grabbing televisions. You can hear the fans reference Young Thug in the video.

““We waitin’ on Thug. Thug, man, you better bring your something man, cause this shit here is a catastrophe.”

The origins of the viral rumor are unclear. Obviously, it made its rounds enough that several people showed up. The jilted fans ultimately had to return their goods to the shelf.

Young Thug probably wasn’t even aware of the rumor. He notified fans on November 11 that he had barely been checking his social media. He said it depresses him.

While random acts of kindness are common among celebrities, fans should always check with official sources first. Scams are common with famous people. WWE wrestler Seth Rollins learned the hard way when he was assaulted by a fan who thought they had a relationship due to an internet catfishing scam.
