Pete Buttigieg has a lot on his plate. The current Secretary of Transportation and former candidate for President joined TMZ Live earlier today to discuss what’s going on in his busy life. They inquired about recent rumors that Mayor Pete might be eyeing another run at the White House.

Buttigieg says he doesn’t have anything inspiring him to run right now. He’s in charge of allocating $1 trillion in infrastructure funding that recently reached President Biden’s desk. He also welcomed a daughter and a son earlier this year.

Pete ran an inspired underdog campaign in 2020 as he competed with Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and others for the Democratic nomination for the country’s highest office. Pete doesn’t think that’s necessary. He believes his hard work and dedication can better be used elsewhere.

He hasn’t completely closed the door on politics. Buttigieg says there are some things that would have to happen, but he’s not ready to give a hard no on any future campaigns. For now, he’s got his hands full with a major government job and being a father to twins.

Pete Buttigieg got his start in politics as the mayor of South Bend, Indiana. His midwestern values contrasted with the fact that he was openly gay, bringing him broad national appeal. While his campaign for President was unsuccessful, he became a big time player on the national political scene.

Buttigieg married his partner, Chasten Glezman in 2018, after coming out in 2015. His quick rise within the Democratic party made him a household name. President Biden nominated him as Secretary of Transportation after defeating incumbant Donald Trump in the 2020 general election.
