Khabib Nurmagomedov will forever be regarded as one of the best UFC fighters to have competed in the MMA world. He ended his MMA career for good back in March and since then has been enjoying his life in retirement. Khabib also admitted he could never be on Mike Tyson’s level. It seems Georges St-Pierre will neer fight him either.

There was a lot of speculation regarding him returning to the UFC as he was still undefeated, with many believing he would come back to make his record an impressive 30-0. However, Dana White had confirmed back in March that the Russian fighter has retired for good.

On the other hand, Georges St-Pierre made his return to the UFC back in 2016 where he faced off against Michael Bisping in a different weight class. Georges St-Pierre would hang up his gloves for good in 2019, bringing an end to a legendary career.

While speaking with SPORF, Georges St-Pierre talked about potentially squaring off against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The MMA legend revealed that he will never fight Khabib as he is determined to stay true to his words of staying retired.

“Yeah, Khabib is done. I know that because last time (UFC president) Dana White called me to ask me if I wanted to fight Khabib, I said – I didn’t want to, now; it’s past. But just by curiosity, I said, ‘Let me think about it.’ So, he went on Khabib’s side – because when he approached me, he made it sound like Khabib already accepted. But I knew it wasn’t true, so I wanted to see how things would go. So, I tell him, ‘Let me think about it. I’ll get back to you.’ So, he went on Khabib’s side, and Khabib said no. He made a promise to his mother, and I think it’s a very honorable thing because now we live in a world that everybody is influenced by money. And Khabib gave his word, and stick to his word. So, I think it’s a good thing.”

And I think I no longer have the intention of competing anymore in mixed martial arts to prove that I’m the champion or the best fighter right now. So, I think that it’s a story that ends well, you know, my career and Khabib’s career, I think it’s a good ending for both of us.”

Khabib had previously stated that he has no interest in continuing his career for money fights. Since his retirement, he has been focused on Eagle Fighting Championship. However, it is to be noted that Khabib does miss fighting in the UFC as well.
