Lady Gaga and Kristen Stewart have millions of fans. Out of the million are few who are obsessive and they are giving the community a bad rep. African-American Journalist Ernest Owens opened up about the bullying he experienced from the obsessive fans.

As the year reaches its end, Oscars have created a buzz. With the Oscar season comes high competition, clutter and downright pettiness. The award night has also gotten quite political lately with #OscarsSoWhite and the #MeToo movement. However, Owens believes there is something new that is going to take over the discussion and its not very virtuous.

Social media and the rise of stan culture have now made Oscar season all the more frustrating, Owens said. He explained that the Best Actress race between Lady Gaga and Kristen Stewart has turned into a bitter online beef among their fans or “stans”. The debate has now taken up messy racially equitable politics to snub the opposition.

The journalist authored the Rolling Stone article complaining that he has received several shady emails from “stans” of both the actresses. The email seem to be smear campaigns against the opponent. One email says Lady Gaga has done Black Face while another deemed her as “Hero of the African American community”.

Another email accused Ernest Owens of “calling Kristen Stewart a racist just to lift Lady Gaga’s spirits? “. The journalist then mentioned that other cultists and film critics have shared screenshots of fan messages supporting Gaga and dismissing any criticism. All this mischief just to see their favorite girls receive Hollywood’s highest accolade.
