Martin Scorsese is one of the most prolific directors of all time. The legendary director has many classics under his belt such as The Wolf of Wall Street, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas & The Departed. Now he’s ready to helm another film that could be potentially one of his finest.

The director is set to direct the biopic of psychedelic rock legends The Grateful Dead. The project still remains unscheduled for release, as it is still in the process of being fully written. Writers Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who also wrote for “American Crime Story: Impeachment,” are finishing up the script.

The unnamed film is also receiving backing from Apple as they own the rights to the Grateful Dead’s music. LBI Entertainment’s Rick Yorn is also providing production on the film.

Jonah Hill, who has worked with Scorsese in The Wolf of Wall Street is set to play a key character in the biopic. The star has been confirmed to star as The Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia.
