Vanessa Bryant has been doing her best to support and grow her late husband’s empire. The widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant recently trademarked a new brand on behalf of Kobe Bryant, LLC. This time, she’s trying to start a new wine brand using Kobe’s iconic numbers 8 and 24.

Bryant filed paperwork on November 5 to lock down trademarks that appear to lead to wine country. “Mambo Vino.” “Mambo Vino 2024,” “Mambo Vin0 8,” and “Mambo Vino 24” were among the name marks Vanessa sought to secure. TMZ initially discovered the filings.

The applicant on the filing is listed as Kobe Bryant, LLC. Vanessa herself signed off on the paperwork. The new venture comes in addition to previous filings for Kobe-themed merchandise and electronic items and content.

One of Kobe Bryant’s many nicknames was “Vino.” He received the name because people said the basketball great got better with age. Vanessa put some thought into the wine venture, and it makes a lot of sense from a marketing perspective.

Other celebrities, including The Bella Twins, Wayne Gretzky, Jay-Z, and more have previously had a foray into the wine business. If Vanessa Bryant’s efforts are successful, Vino will be the latest to have his own vino. The 2024 date in one of the filings does indicate that fans might have to wait a while for the wine to age before they can sample it.

Vanessa Bryant lost her daughter and husband in January of 2020. Nine people in total were killed when Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crashed in Calabasas, California. So far, Vanessa is doing a great job of keeping her legendary husband’s name alive. A sample screenshot of one of the trademark filings can be viewed below.
