Nikki Bella‘s fairy tale engagement to WWE superstar and Peacemaker star John Cena didn’t quite work out. Nikki then met professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev when the duo were made a team on the 2017 season of Dancing With the Stars. After their first dates in 2019, the couple got engaged in France and had a son together in July of 2020.

Fans have been wondering about the couple’s relationship since things have been pretty quiet. Nikki told Us Weekly that the wedding was originally going to be over Thanksgiving this year. Unfortunately, that date had to be postponed, presumably because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I don’t want there to be social distancing because that’s the one thing that’s fun about wedding. Especially as we’re getting older, because they’re more rare. Like, I want everyone to have a weekend escape.”

In June of 2021, Bella told Entertainment Tonight that the real reason for the postponement was that the couple were working on home renovations. They plan to revisit the schedule when they finish work on the house. Nikki wants to take it easy and just let things happen.

“We’d love it to be in the fall and a few of the venues were like, ‘We’re available. And what we just started saying is, ‘We’re so busy every day and we completely remodeled the inside of our home. We haven’t even lived in it yet and we’re doing the outside and that takes so much work. We’re still not even done designing. And so he and I both were just like, ‘Let’s get through the house. If it happens, it happens.’”

There’s no date, but it sounds like plans could pop up for Nikki Bella and Artem Chingvintsev to set a date at any time. They still seem to be very much in love. Creating a perfect home to raise their family in is the priority right now. The wedding will have to wait for the former WWE star and her fiancé.
