The main event of UFC 267 saw Glover Teixeira challenge Jan Blachowicz for the UFC light heavyweight title in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. Many were expecting Blachowicz to have an easy win. It seems Teixeira made history after UFC 267.

Teixeira had the upper hand in the first round as he controlled Blachowicz. In the second round Blachowicz got more offence. However, a left hook by Teixeira hurt Blachowicz.

Right after that he got the champion on the ground and applied a rear naked choke-esque submission. Blachowicz had no choice but to submit after taking so much punishment.

Thus, Glover Teixeira became the second-oldest UFC champion in history at the age of 42. He is only behind Randy Couture who was 43 years, eight months when he defeated Tim Sylvia for the heavyweight title in 2007.

The win is the sixth straight for Teixeira dating back to January 2019. He is also the oldest first-time UFC Champion in history as well. We will have to wait and see how he will fare as the new UFC light heavyweight championship.
