Saquon Barkley remembers his roots. The former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowler recently made a special delivery to his alma mater. He also gave the entire team a very swanky gift.

After a stellar career of Big Ten football at Penn State, Barkley was drafted second overall by the New York Giants. The Penn State football team’s Instagram revealed the generous gift from their famous alum last night.

Barkley’s new signature Air Trainer 3 sneakers haven’t been released yet, so it was an extra special treat for the Nittany Lion squad. The shoes are adorned with his logo on the heel and insole and his jersey #26 on the tongue.

The asking price for a new pair of Saquon’s kicks is $140. The NCAA minimum for a football squad is 85 players. That’s almost $12,000 worth of shoes. Not bad for a bunch of amateur athletes.

Saquon Barkley is averaging 3.6 yards per carry with two touchdowns for a struggling Giants offense. He’s amassed 2,539 career yards to go along with two 1,000 yard seasons. His 2020 season was cut short by an ACL tear in a loss to the Chicago Bears.

What do you think of Saquon Barkley’s generous gift? Let us know in the comments!
