Brad Pitt recently filed a petition to challenge the court’s ruling to disqualify the private judge in his custody dispute with Angelina Jolie was denied on Wednesday. Pitt had requested to review a ruling by the California appellate court to block John Ouderkirk from being assigned judged in the custody battle.

Angelina Jolie’s attorney, Robert Olson, gave a statement to Entertainment Tonight. The court had ruled that the private judge did not disclose business ties to Pitt, citing a potential conflict of interest.

“Ms. Jolie is focused on her family and pleased that her children’s wellbeing will not be guided by unethical behavior. She welcomes the California Supreme Court’s decision to refuse review of the unanimous Court of Appeal decision.”

Pitt was granted joint custody of the couple’s five minor children who range in age from 13 to 17. The couple also has a twenty-year-old son named Maddox.

Brad Pitt filed his motion to overturn the decision back in July, seeking to keep Ouderkirk on the case. The legal decision marks a major victory for Angelina Jolie in the ongoing legal tangle.

So far there has been no comment from Brad Pitt’s camp. The couple’s wedding ceremony in 2014 was performed by none other than John Ouderkirk.
