Nicole Kidman has appeared as Lucille Ball in the first teaser trailer for “Being The Ricardos.”
The first official trailer for “Being The Ricardos” has been released by Amazon. Kidman appears as Ball in the film, while Javier Bardem appears as Ball’s husband, Desi Arnaz.
The biopic will chronicle the lives of Ball and Arnaz, who were married from 1940 until 1960. They are known for starring on the “I Love Lucy” hit sitcom.
Director and producer Aaron Sorkin previously praised Kidman and Bardem as the “greatest actors ever” when talking about how they were selected for the roles. He told Entertainment Tonight earlier this year that they are going to be fantastic in the roles.
I think that the people thought that we’ve cast them as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo. The film takes place during a production week of ‘I Love Lucy’ – a Monday table read to Friday audience taping, with a whole bunch of long flashbacks which are telling the story that got us here – and because there’s a table read, there’s rehearsals and then there’s tape night, we do see moments of them being Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, but mostly they are playing Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball, and they’re going to be fantastic. These are two of the greatest actors ever.
The new trailer, seen below, features different scenes while Kidman, as Ball, narrates. The video ends with the reveal of Kidman as Ball as she recreates an “I Love Lucy” scene.
“Being The Ricardos” is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 10th, and on Amazon Prime on December 21st. The new teaser trailer can be seen below:
