Ben Simmons has been the subject of a lot of trade talk lately. The Philadelphia 76ers have had to deal with the disgruntled point guard’s off-court antics throughout the early part of the NBA season.

Simmons was recently fined and suspended by the franchise after refusing to take part in team activities. Ben says he’s dealing with some mental health issues.

NBA legend and rebound king Sir Charles Barkley recently weighed in on the issues between Simmons and the club. Speaking with Scott Bordow of Compare they he would like to see the troubled player sent elsewhere.

Barkley says that Philly should look to an unlikely source to make the deal. In his mind, the best trade would be for Kyrie Irving. The Nets point guard has faced some off-court issues of his own this season. Barkley still believes it would be a good deal for both squads.

“Yes, I would do that deal right away. I think it would benefit both teams.”

Simmons has yet to appear in a game for the 76ers this season. He recently put his Philadelphia-area mansion on sale for an asking price of $5 million.

For his part, Kyrie Irving has also not appeared in a game this season for Brooklyn. He’s repeated refused to comply with team and league COVID-19 vaccination protocols.

Would Kyrie Irving be a good fit for the Sixers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
