Eminem and Ed Sheeran are one of the biggest names in music. They have even worked together on multiple collaborations that have become chartbuster hits and topped Billboard charts.

Ed Sheeran has revealed that he and Eminem got close and became pen-pals after discovering that both of them share a love over cassette tapes. Sheeran appeared on Later… with Jools Holland where he revealed how he and Eminem have a hobby of collecting cassettes and how this shared interest made them closer.

“I collect cassettes and I’ve got Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder and they are quite difficult to find. The only person I know who collects the same is Eminem. He collects cassettes, that’s his thing. He loves collecting. He is avid at going to find them. We have started having this, it’s like a very cool pen-pal thing. I got a message the other day [from Eminem] about an LL Cool J cassette. He said, ‘This is the cassette which made me want to start rapping’. I sent him Van Morrison and I will send him David Gray’s ‘White Ladder’ next.”

Ed Sheeran and Eminem first collaborated with 2017’s River which was on Eminem’s Revival album. Their next collaboration would be in 2019 with 50 Cent for Remember the Name from Ed Sheeran’s album No.6 Collaborations Project. In 2020, Those Kinda Nights came out with fans being thoroughly entertained with the hilarious lyrics.
