Drake started from the bottom and now he’s there, on top of the rap world. Now he can look back at how things started, and everything it took to keep up appearances.

Today, October 24th, is also Drake’s birthday. He celebrated the night with a big Cocaine Cowboys party in Miami while fake Drake was doing his thing across town.

Drizzy logged onto Instagram to share an interesting story. he used to pay $5k a month to rent a Rolls Royce Phantom, just to keep up appearances. All that effort and big money paid off, because Drake showed up in that ride and looked great while doing it as his journey in the rap game really took off.

Back in 2007 we used to finesse this Rolls Royce Phantom rental to convince people in the city we were destined to make it. I used to scrape together 5k a month somehow to keep up appearances. We whipped this to Ottawa to see @belly and @cashxo and to Montreal for my first show ever. I used to pick up @ovoniko and roll every day or wait outside @nebzilla class for her. Park outside 15 Fort York while me and @ovo40 and @oliverelkhatib would be upstairs cooking what would eventually become So Far Gone. Even though I don’t recommend putting yourself in financial trouble for material things I realize now that this was just my way of extreme manifesting. I needed to see it and feel it and have it to believe that I could see and feel and have anything I wanted. Today in 2021 my brother @futuretheprince tracked down the exact car I use to stress over and gifted it to me…it’s mine now. Manifestation complete. Thank you for all the love and appreciation and gifts and texts and dm’s…more than just loved I feel truly appreciated and that is the only gift I ever needed. TREY FIVE EASY MONEY DRIZZY 😈 let’s get this shit. BLICK EMMMMMM

Drake is now one of the most popular artists on the planet. We have to wonder how many more stories he has tucked away that Drake will share as time goes on. Now he owns that same care that he used to rent, so things really came full circle for Toronto’s favorite son.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
