Derek Hough says that he was the victim of a recent attempted robbery. The controversial Dancing with the Stars judge says the attempt occurred at his Las Vegas home.

Hough’s Instagram story blamed the robbery attempt on DWTS fans who were trying to steal his Mirrorball trophies. Instead, they only broke one.

“Check this out, this is some awesome news. So I have my six Mirrorball Trophies outside the theater in a display case and I guess there was an attempted robbery. But instead, they just broke the ‘D’ and they stole the ‘With.’ So now it’s just ‘Ancing The Stars.’ ‘Ancing the Stars!

Hough recently received heat from fans for his decision to eliminate Mel C from the show. Even some of the pros were confused by the strange choice.

In addition to his duties on DWTS, Hough remains a prolific professional performer. His Derek Hough: No Limits residency in Las Vegas runs through November. The shows take place at the Venetian Resort.

Dancing with the Stars airs on ABC on Monday nights at 8pm. The show’s landmark 30th season began in September of 2021.
